This book is about a girl called dee and her father fought in war but never made it through people say he ran away from the war cause he hated him and all he did was sit there in the trenches doing nothing. So all the children at her school call her "Dead Dans Dee" and she hates walking into school being mocked because of her dad, so she wants to find out the truth about her dad so she goes about asking people questions about him.

i quite liked this book cause it tells a girls life but as a story and its interesting.
